In June 2024 the Trent University Faculty Association passed a motion that it will "press Trent University to end any institutional ties it has to the Israeli military, defence, security, and technology sectors", and in May 2025 it announced it is divesting from Scotiabank over the bank's investment in Elbit Systems.

In furtherance of these aims, TUFA will: press Trent University to end any institutional ties it has to the Israeli military, defence, security, and technology sectors and corporations complicit in Israeli war crimes, breaches of international law, and human rights violations in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem
The Trent University Faculty Association (TUFA), representing 325 professors and professional librarians at Trent University, is divesting over half a million dollars from Scotiabank due to the bank's financial ties to Elbit Systems, Israel's largest weapons manufacturer.
