קבוצת סופרים ואנשי תרבות בטורונטו פרסמה באתר שלה מכתב מ-10 ביולי 2024 הדורש מקרן ג'ילר "Cut ties with all funders directly invested in Israel’s occupation and genocide in Palestine" (בתרגום: "לנתק קשרים עם כל המממנים המושקעים ישירות בכיבוש של ישראל וברצח העם בפלסטין"), ודף Boycott Giller הקורא לסופרים ולאנשי ספר בקנדה לא להגיש ספרים ולא להשתתף באירועי ג'ילר עד שהפרס יפסיק את הקשר עם הנותנים בנק סקוטיה, Indigo Books וקרן עזריאלי. דף מ-9 באפריל 2026 קובע שהחרם הסתיים.
